Back to the Top_____Most of the family histories are listed in the library catalog. In the Local History area they are located at the west end of the books on the north wall.
The library has most of the city directories back to 1899. In the early years the directories were published several years apart so that 1899 is followed by 1912 and 1915. Both the 1899 and the 1915 directories may be accessed in digital format on the Jackson County Digital Archive site under "books." Some older phone directories also are available.
A number of research guides in the library may be borrowed for closer reading. Some also are available for in-library use. General guide are supplemented by specialty guides such as pursuing local or family history interests, house and building histories, military history, country and ethnic history, and so on.
