Little Tykes Storytime is for infants and toddlers ages newborn through 18 months old. A parent or a caregiver must accompany each child. These half-hour sessions will include a storytime with songs, finger plays, and puppets. Little Tykes Storytime is designed to teach caregivers new songs, finger plays, stories, and other activities to do with their children while allowing them to meet with other parents to share ideas, information, and stories. Registration for the programs is required.
Toddler Storytime is held throughout the year. It runs the entire months of February, March, April, June, August, September, October, November and the first part of December. It's a lap sit so one adult is required to be present with each child.
Toddler Storytime includes reading stories, singing songs, doing finger plays, and much much more. Activities done during this time are based on a theme for that week. There is literature given to each parent on extra activities that can be done to enhance the toddler's knowledge of the theme along with words to songs that are done frequently in storytime. If you're striving for quality time with your toddler, this is a great way to get started! This program is for children ages 18 to 36 months old. Registration for the programs is required.

Preschool crafts give your child an opportunity to practice art skills such as cutting, pasting, drawing, and painting. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to teach their child how to use basic craft supplies, such as scissors, glue sticks, crayons, and paints.

Tune in each Saturday morning at 9 a.m. on Radio 96.3 FM to hear Melessa Wiesehan, Head of Youth Services, read a fabulous story from the library's collection. She will include the Radio Storytime Question of the Week at the beginning and the end of the broadcast. The question will also be posted behind the Kidz Korner Help Desk and at the Crothersville and Medora branches. The first person that answers the question correctly at the Seymour, Crothersville or Medora locations will win a prize. Any person that comes into the Seymour Library or a branch location and answers the question correctly, will be entered into the Jackson County Public Library's Radio Storytime grand prize drawing. The answer must apply to the story of the present week. Anyone is eligible to participate. Upcoming events at the library will also be announced.
