Registration is required.

 

Students practice their reading skills by reading with children their own age and by participating in fun literacy games and activities. Refreshments will be provided.

 

Celebrate Dr. Seuss Day

Registration is required.

 

Celebrate the anniversary of Dr. Seuss' birthday by taking a tour through Seussville and listening to Dr. Seuss' classic stories. Enjoy themed crafts, snacks and games.

 

National Library Week

Make a Splash, Read!

Sponsored by the Friends of the Library

 

Bookmark Contest

Kick off the National Library Week celebration early by participating in the library's annual bookmark contest. Everyone, ages 3 and up, may create a bookmark focusing on this year's National Library Week and Summer Reading Program theme "Make a Splash, Read!"

 

Age categories are: preschool, grades K-12 and adults. One winner from each age level or grade will be chosen. Winners will receive a prize and have their bookmark design reproduced and circulated throughout the county library system during National Library Week, April 12-18 and during this year's "Make a Splash, Read!" Summer Reading Program.

 

Entry forms are available at all library locations starting Tuesday, February 2. All entries must be returned to a Jackson County Public Library location by Tuesday, March 17.

Be a Star at Your Library

For Kindergarten students

Don't forget to come by the Seymour, Crothersville or Medora library to get your visits counted. Remember that on your fifth visit you receive a free book. For every 10 books you read and for each visit you make to the library, you will receive a slip for the bicycle grand prize drawing. Help your class win a cookie party! Homeschool children in Kindergarten are welcome to participate.
