Mother Goose & Me- Schedule

Open to infants and toddlers ages 3-24 months. These half-hour sessions on Monday evenings focus on developing a love of reading, oral language and vocabulary through music, rhythm, dance, puppets, finger plays, and stories. This program is designed to teach caregivers new songs, finger plays, stories, and other activities to do with their child while allowing them to meet with other parents to share ideas, information, and stories. A parent or a caregiver must accompany each child. Registration for the program is required.

 

Babes & Tykes- Schedule

Open to infants and toddlers ages 3-24 months. Babes & Tykes is offered on Tuesday and Friday mornings. This is a time to share stories, nursery rhymes, bouncy rhymes, and songs that are suitable for babies and little tykes. Puppets and musical shakers add enrichment to these learning experiences. This lapsit program is a wonderful way to enjoy fun quality time with your child. A parent or caregiver must accompany each child. Registration for the program is required.

 

Shake Your Sillies Out Toddler Time- Schedule

For children ages 25-36 months. This program is offered on Monday evenings. Toddlers get the wiggles out and develop early literacy skills through music, rhythm, dance, puppets, finger plays, and stories. Toddlers will experience fun in learning as well as social interaction during the program. A parent or caregiver must accompany each child. Registration for the program is required.

 

Toddler Tales & Tunes- Schedule

Open to children ages 25-36 months. This program is offered on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Toddler Tales & Tunes is a time for toddlers to experience lively stories and to explore and participate in themed activities. Stories, finger plays, musical instruments and flannel board rhymes enrich this literacy experience. A parent or caregiver must accompany each child. Registration for the program is required.

 

Preschool Explorers- Schedule

Open to children ages 3-5 years. This program is offered on Monday evenings. STEAM Storytime: A weekly exploration of the sciences through stories, finger plays, puppets, songs, games, and hands-on activities that are designed to reinforce early literacy skills. Parents and caregivers are not required to accompany child, but are encouraged to attend and participate. Registration for the program is required.

 

Preschool Power- Schedule

Open to children ages 3-5 years. This program is offered on Tuesday and Friday mornings and is a time for preschoolers to enjoy learning through stories, finger plays, music, interactive stories and, at times, participate in hands-on activities. Parents and caregivers are not required to accompany child, but are encouraged to attend and participate. Registration for the program is required.
 

Adventures in Art- Schedule

The Kidz Korner Department conducts craft sessions that incorporate hands-on activities. The craft classes are open to 3, 4, and 5 year olds who have not entered Kindergarten. This program is offered on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am. Preschool crafts give your child an opportunity to practice art skills such as cutting, pasting, drawing, and painting. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to teach their child how to use basic craft supplies, such as scissors, glue sticks, crayons, and paints. Caregivers should expect that their child MAY get paint, glue, and other craft mediums on their clothes. Please dress your child appropriately for ALL craft sessions and/or bring a craft shirt for them to wear during the class. Registration for the program is required.

 

Family Adventures in Art- Schedule

Open to all ages. Scheduled on Thursday evening at 5:30 pm, this is an art class for the whole family. This class will be the same as the preschool version but participants will be able to change the complexity of their projects with their skill level.

 

Milk & Cookies Storytime- Schedule

Families are invited to share stories, songs, finger plays, and of course milk and cookies! Juice and water will also be provided. Dietary and allergy restrictions will be up to parents to monitor. The Saturday program is open to all ages. Registration is required. Milk & Cookies Storytime is offered on some Saturday mornings at 11 am. School-Age Lit- Schedule

Open to grades K-5. Registration is required. Parents are encouraged to wait outside the program room during each session. School-Age Lit is offered on Wednesday afternoons at 4:30 pm and is designed to increase a child’s comfort level reading and listening to chapter books and longer stories. This class seeks to increase attention span, reading comprehension and fluency. Themed activities, based on the readings, add to the fun. Homeschool Friday- Schedule

Open to children who are home schooled. Registration is required. This program is offered one Friday a month at 1:30 pm. Homeschool Friday is designed for home school students to explore the sciences together through stories, crafts, experiments, and public speaking. Weekend Builders- Schedule

A time for kids of all ages to explore and build with Legos and other building blocks. Take your building to another level by taking part in the Lego Challenge or just enjoy and have fun. Registration is not required. Weekend Builders is offered on some Saturdays at 2 pm. Please click the schedule link to find out specific dates that the program is offered.
 

Radio Storytime

Tune in each Saturday morning at 9 a.m. on Radio 96.3 FM to hear Lola Snyder, Head of Youth Services, read a fabulous story from the library’s collection. Upcoming library events at the library will be announced by Lola as well. Radio Storytime is sponsored by JCB Sammy Saver.
