Library volunteers
- We welcome adults and children who are 13 years or older.
- Applicants must agree to background checks.
- The number of volunteers accepted is based on need and supervisory time available.
How to volunteer
Visit the Checkout Desk or download and fill out the volunteer form PDF and return this form to the Checkout Desk at any JCPL location. We will contact you.
Volunteer positions
Kids Department Cleaning Crew: Cleaning board books and toys
Genealogy/Local History: Scanning local history materials; transcribing audiovisual materials; working with databases of local history/genealogical information
Technical Services: Applying labels and stamps to materials; applying book covers and jackets; cleaning audiovisual materials; sorting withdrawn materials
Event Crew: Assisting with events, including prep work and cleanup
Seed Sorting: Counting and sorting packages of seeds into smaller envelopes for the seed library
