As part of the Jackson County Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, Get in the Game, READ!, Indiana University women’s basketball coach Teri Moren will present a motivational program, Get in the Game-Attitude, at 6 pm, Tuesday, June 21, at the Seymour American Legion Annex (at the Corner of West Second and North Pine Streets). This free Jackson County Public Library program is open to adults and teens. Registration is preferred by June 17, by going to www.myjclibrary.org/events or by calling the Seymour Library at 523-INFO (523-4636). The Friends of the Jackson County Public Library are sponsoring this program with a donation to ALS, in memory of Moren’s mother Barb Moren.
Seymour native Moren has been the head coach of the IU women’s basketball program since August 9, 2014. In just her second season with the Hoosiers, Moren was named Big Ten Coach of the Year. Moren played for the Seymour Lady Owls, leading them to a 1987 state finals appearance before playing for the Purdue Boilermakers. She began her coaching career as an assistant coach at Butler, was on the coaching staff at Northwestern and Georgia Tech and began her head coaching career at the University of Indianapolis. She spent four seasons as head coach at Indiana State University before she became head coach for the Hoosiers. Moren was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame on April 26, 2014.
