The library recently signed an agreement with The Shelf TV to enable residents to enjoy Spanish-language video content through a new streaming service at https://theshelf.tv/en.
This partnership is part of the library’s commitment of service to the library district. In this initiative, the Hispanic community is especially targeted, as it will allow them access to this new platform with cultural and entertainment content, mainly in Spanish, in streaming format.
The service is now available and can be enjoyed 24/7 and from any device through the browser or the app, available to all members of the community who have a library card. Available content includes a variety of choice materials ranging from movies and premium series, to performing arts and children’s content. Carefully curated content will aid in the education and development of children, and in the entertainment of all.
The quality of TheShelf.tv’s video catalog is backed by its partnerships with the best global Spanish-language premium content providers. The platform catalog includes a well-balanced selection of titles from Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina along with some of the internationally acclaimed productions from Spain such as “El Ministerio del Tiempo”, “El tiempo entre costuras” and “Aquí no hay quién viva”, among others.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer The Shelf for our Spanish-speaking customers,” said Julia Aker, Library Director. “A lot of our district residents speak Spanish at home, and now they will be able to enjoy Spanish language content through this streaming service with their library card.”

La Biblioteca del condado de Jackson firma una alianza con The Shelf TV para poner a disposición de los residentes del condado un nuevo servicio de streaming audiovisual en español:
Esta alianza representa un paso más en el compromiso de la biblioteca con su comunidad. Con esta iniciativa se beneficia especialmente a la comunidad hispana dando acceso a sus miembros a un servicio de streaming audiovisual, principalmente en idioma español, con contenido cultural y de entretenimiento.
El servicio es accesible 24/7 desde cualquier dispositivo a través de navegador web o de las apps y podrán disfrutarlos los miembros de la comunidad que dispongan de un carnet de la biblioteca.
El catálogo de la plataforma incluye una gran variedad de contenido que va desde música, películas, series, obras de teatro, ópera y ballets además de un apartado infantil que presenta una selección de series de animación especialmente curadas para fomentar la educación y el desarrollo de los más pequeños.
